Attendees will be able to vote on trophies for vehicles, with the categories of Oldest Car, Best in Show, and People’s Choice. Various raffles for prizes will take place, including a 50/50 raffle, with half of the winnings going to support the Swannanoa Valley Museum.

“This is a chance for families to enjoy exciting models from motoring history,” SVM executive director LeAnne Johnson said of the inaugural event in 2021, the first of its kind in Black Mountain. “Car shows connect older generations with younger generations by exploring the nostalgia of antique vehicles. People of all ages can appreciate the beautiful designs of classic cars from their own lifetimes and beyond.”

Car shows are where classic cars can compete on a completely different levels. It’s not about efficiency and speed, or the newest features on the market.  Its all about the style, rarity, craftsmanship, that can be both universal and timeless. Just a few reasons that classic cars not only appeal to car lovers, but also to lovers of engineering, design, art and history.
