DIRECTIONS 

Traveling to Black Mountain

Driving directions from Charlotte: Take I-85 S to US-321 N, then take I-40 west to the Black Mountain/E. State Street exit. Our downtown is just a few blocks off I-40.

Driving directions from Asheville: Head east on I-40 for about 15 miles to the Black Mountain/E. State Street exit. Our downtown is just a few blocks off I-40.

Bus service to and from Asheville – Black Mountain: To view all current maps & schedules, visit the Buncombe County transportation site.

Air Travel:  About a 30-minute drive from  Black Mountain, Asheville Regional Airport serves all of Western North Carolina. Keep in mind that the airport is busy and currently undergoing expansion. During construction, expect delays at the rental car counter, and be sure to arrive early for your return flight!

Hurricane Helene Impact: Sections of I-40 are still impassable near the Tennessee border, as are stretches of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Consult Google Maps for the best driving route for you, or view the real-time statewide Helene reopening map at DriveNC.gov.

PARKING

There are several Public parking lots in and around the downtown area.

Town Square Parking Lot: Located on East State Street, this lot offers free public parking in the heart of downtown

Terry Estate Drive Lot: Located just behind Mellie Macs Garden Shack and a convenient walk to all of downtown

Honeycutt Street:  Located just behind the town square

Downtown Free Street Parking: The downtown area provides free public street parking. Please be mindful and don’t park for extended periods

152 NC-9: Gravel lot just before the train tracks coming in on Hwy 9 from I40

Montreat Road: Parking lot next to White Horse Black Mountain during daytime hours

Church Parking:  Please be mindful of signs and not parking during worship hours

Black Mountain Tailgate Market Parking: During market events, parking is available at the First Baptist Church’s Montreat Road lot, just a short walk from the main entrance. Follow the signs
