The RailYard Black Mountain to Host Music Festival on New Outdoor Stage
The RailYard Black Mountain is kicking off its new outdoor stage on Saturday, May 20th with an all-day festival featuring music from Velvet Truckstop, Tony Cedras, David Zoll Trio, Chalwa, Eric Travers Band, and Hunter Begley!
This is a great line of talented musicians you won’t want to miss!

Velvet Truckstop
From the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, Velvet Truckstop is a seasoned musical powerhouse that delivers a high-energy mix of Southern Rock and jam-fueled Cosmic Americana every time they take the stage. Velvet Truck Stop has recorded/performed live with many notable musicians, including: Tom Constanten (Grateful Dead), Ike Stubblefield (Frank Zappa, Jerry Garcia Band), Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd), and John Keane (Widespread Panic). Tony Cedras
Tony is a highly respected multi-instrumentalist who recorded and toured throughout his career with some of the biggest names in the American and African music scene. He is an original member of Paul Simon’s studio and touring band for his monumental Graceland album. Through the course of his international career, he has also performed with artists such as Joan Baez , Tony Bird, Chris Botti, Miriam Makeba, Ziggy Marley, Hugh Masakela, Pharaoh Sanders, and many more. David Zoll Trio
The talented trio of musicians led by WNC-based musician, educator, and performer David Zoll. He has had the pleasure to play with Cajun and Zydeco outfit Bayou Diesel, reggae-dub group Chalwa , Americana duo The Everydays, his own blues rock quartet DZQ, old-school country outfit The Old Chevrolette set, Laura Blackley and the Wildflowers as well as a solo artist for countless weddings and corporate events. Chalwa
This 8-member Mountain Reggae powerhouse packs it full of roots meditations and high grade jams that awaken your spirit and soul! Chalwa’s high energy shows are one of a kind, featuring smooth vocals, percussion, bass, lead guitar, keys and saxophone. Their extensive collection of original music is interlaced with music from some of the Greats including, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer and even Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. Chalwa has toured throughout the southeastern US and Jamaica. Eric Travers Band
The Asheville, NC-based group plays Rock N Roll Blues, Americana, and Rhythm & Blues roots! Eric Travers Band is also bringing a hometown nostalgia feeling with their DEBUT SINGLE to be released at the festival. They will be playing at the upcoming Asheville Fest this summer and the Band just welcomed two new members Dorsey Parker and Ian Harrod. Hunter Begley
Hunter Begley is a singer/songwriter from North Carolina and Owen High School Alumni. He created the band High Blue Heron in 2021 and also has a self-titled solo project The “Hunter Begley EP,” released, on Feb. 4th this year, and available on all digital platforms. He performs mostly alternative country/americana and rock n roll.
