There is more to the quaint and iconic Red House on State St in Black Mountain that you may think.
THE RED HOUSE, which is nestled in the scenic town of Black Mountain in Western North Carolina, the league offers a welcoming venue for the development of artistic skill, and the support of creative inspiration. Its mission is to “inspire artistic growth & excellence through education & exhibition”.
Did you know… is home to life drawing sessions, and art groups, programs & workshops? It also features working studios that are open to the public, and gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions. Works include: jewelry, painting, mosaic, sculpture, painting, and much more. A varied and dynamic range of instruction includes classes in printmaking, photography, silk dyeing, cold wax, painting, and more.
The iconic red building, was built in the early 20th century, and originally part of the Monte Vista Hotel.
The Red House features multiple gallery spaces that host shows of local artist work. The former hotel rooms are now artist studios, and more than a dozen artists work crafting and displaying their creations.
There are also classrooms to allow for teaching and learning, their upcoming classes can be found on their website.
