Red House Gallery & Studios Unveils New Downtown Location on Cherry Street, Black Mountain
You may have noticed the work going on at 101 Cherry Street, the new home of the Red House Gallery & Studios. Having recently moved from their previous location they are currently undergoing the transition to the new expanded venue.
The strategic move to downtown Black Mountain is expected to boost foot traffic for both the artists and the gallery.
The new Cherry Street location boasts three levels, including 15 working studios and featuring 25 artists. The upper level will house six studios, while the lower level will accommodate nine and the main level will be dedicated to the gallery space.
Mark your calendars for the planned grand opening on March 15, where the inaugural exhibition, titled “Making Changes,” will be unveiled. An opening reception is scheduled for March 15 from 4-7 p.m., and the exhibition will run from March 15 to May 13. Regular operating hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
Treat yourself to a day filled with beauty! You can visit the heart of the Swannanoa Valley art community by touring their working studios and enjoying our gallery exhibits at THE RED HOUSE. Enjoy a wide array of arts from painting, sculpture, and photography, as well as ceramics, fiber art, jewelry, and prints & cards. Their artists staff the facility and are happy to answer questions and share stories.
Did you know the Swannanoa Valley Art League was founded in 1967 and is one of the oldest of its kind in Western North Carolina?
The Red House is the home of The Swannanoa Valley Art League (SVAL). SVAL is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting the arts in Western North Carolina and providing education to both youth and adults.
