The Black Mountain Christmas parade is set to return on Saturday, December 2nd. Sponsored by the Town of Black Mountain and the Black Mountain Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce, the festivities kick off at 4 p.m. at Flat Creek, and the parade route will lead down U.S. 70, continue onto State Street, and culminate at Cragmont Rd.
This cherished tradition has been a part of our community for over five decades, bringing joy, community, and togetherness to all who participate. Spectators can anticipate the delightful sight of 50 to 70 beautifully adorned floats as they pass by.
If you’re interested in being a part of the parade, remember that the application deadline is November 20th. You can find the application on the Chambers website. The entire community, including families, schools, public safety teams, businesses, civic groups, churches, and more, collaborates to craft this unforgettable event.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Bill Christy, a dedicated community leader with a long history of contributions in Black Mountain.
Preparations for this event start many months in advance as organizers strive to capture the essence of the theme and spread the Christmas spirit. This year’s theme, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” coincides with the theme used for Deck the Trees.
Bragging rights and certificates await the top three parade entries that best exemplify the Christmas spirit while staying true to the theme. So, don’t miss the chance to participate and possibly earn some well-deserved bragging rights!
Come join the fun, celebrate, and let your holiday spirit shine brightly!
