Plan your visit to Black Mountain & Swannanoa this September with two weekends full of Oktoberfest fun. From bratwurst and pretzels to stein-holding contests, live music, and special beer releases, this is a great place to be to get in the mood for fall.
Weekend One: September 13–14
Black Mountain Cider & Mead celebrates its 12th Anniversary with Charley King’s Jamaican Food Truck, a medieval combat demonstration by the Warriors of Ash at 4 PM, and plenty of seasonal ciders and meads.
Black Mountain Brewing will kick things off with their Oktoberfestbier release, five or more German-style beers on tap, German-inspired fare at the Smoke Food Truck, and live music at 6 PM.
Blunt Pretzels in Swannanoa will offer authentic Bavarian pretzels, seasonal beer, and live music.
Cheshire Arms will host a Masskrugstemmen stein-holding contest at 4 PM, along with stein races to follow, along with food and drink specials both weekends.
Foothills Grange will be serving bratwurst and sauerkraut, Blunt Pretzels with beer cheese, and seasonal Oktoberfest beers. Live music fills the space on Sunday from 12–5 PM with Lagerhosen Duo and Mountain Top Polka Band
Peri Social House has a full family friendly line up of events. Specialty Bavarian Coffee and Bourbon Radler cocktail, a Kids Bavarian Hat-Making Station at 1 PM, Football on the Patio, Pretzel Necklace station and Biergarten live music at 5 PM with Steven Alverez& Kassidy. Abbiocco Pizzeria food truck on site will be serving a limited-edition Beer Bacon Pizza.
Oak & Grist is a great stop while you are in town; a local distillery crafting small-batch whiskey and gin, featuring seasonal cocktails made with their own spirits alongside local beer and wine.
Old Town District brings Oktoberfest beer, multiple food trucks, and live music all afternoon and evening.
Weekend Two: September 20–21
Berliner Kindl German Restaurant will celebrate September 20 through October 4 with German food specials, beer and wine specials, and live music from 5–7 PM on September 20, September 26, and October 3.
Blunt Pretzels in Swannanoa offers authentic Bavarian pretzels, seasonal beer, and live music.
Cheshire Arms hosts the stein-holding contest at 4 PM along with stein races and food and drink specials.
