Where to Watch the Fireworks
The town’s official fireworks display kicks off right at dark (usually between 9:15 PM and 9:30 PM). Thanks to our wide-open mountain valley, you can see them from almost anywhere downtown, but here are a few prime spots to keep in mind: Look for latest updates here
Decks and Views – If you want to grab a drink and watch from an elevated spot, look for downtown spots with outdoor seating. A perfect example is Hell or High Water Restaurant & Bar on Broadway Street. Their outdoor deck offers an amazing, unobstructed view of the mountains where the fireworks light up the sky. Just be sure to make reservations, they will be packed and have some special menus for the evening.
My Father’s Pizza is another fantastic choice, featuring a lovely deck that makes for a great, relaxed spot to enjoy a slice and catch the show. Just be sure to get to these popular outdoor spaces early to claim a spot!
Black Mountain Town Square – For a classic, community feel, head right to the center of town at the Town Square. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to hang out on the grass while waiting for the first big boom.
Foothills Grange – Foothills Grange great food, and a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere. Grab dinner, enjoy a cold drink, and settle in early—it’s one of the best spots in town to gather with friends and family before the fireworks
Lookout Brewing’s Annual Fireworks Viewing Party – Enjoy a great view of the fireworks lighting up the night sky at Lookout Brewing, all while sipping on craft brews and soaking in the festive atmosphere. To amp up the celebration, the evening will feature live music, creating a fun and energetic vibe as everyone comes together to celebrate.
Black Mountain Brewing – Live music, great craft beer, and a good fireworks-viewing location. Grab a seat, enjoy live music and soak up the festive atmosphere before the skies light up after dark. Black Mountain Brewing’s parking lot and outdoor gathering areas offer excellent views of the fireworks
You don’t need a secret hiding spot or a special ticket to get a great view. Because the fireworks shoot so high into the sky, you’ll get a clear look from almost any sidewalk downtown, the public parking lots on Cherry and Broadway streets, or the open spaces near the historic train depots.
No matter where you choose to set up your lawn chair or grab a deck seat, there is no better place to celebrate the holiday than right here in the heart of Black Mountain.
While you’re in town, be sure to explore Black Mountain’s wonderful restaurants, breweries, cocktail spots, and locally owned shops. Come early, stay late, and make a full day of it. Come celebrate Independence Day in one of Western North Carolina’s most charming mountain towns.
